How to use the MIM via Citrix

Logging On

The first time you log on to the server with your provided username and password you will be asked to change your password. All passwords expire every 30 days.

Client Deployment Method

The Citrix Server can use several types of local clients. The default setting is to use the Java client. This requires that Java be installed on your local PC. This is the easiest client to setup assuming the Java runtime environment is loaded on your PC.

The preferred client is the Citrix Web Client. This client is a bit more stable and robust than the Java version. If you are going to be using the MIM via Citrix for more than a few days, it is worth downloading and setting up the local client.

If you choose to use the Java Client, skip to the next section - LIM Server Applications.

When you first access the MIM via Citrix web page a message will appear in the Message Center stating that you do not have the local client installed. There is a link provided to download and install the client. Follow the install instructions and then restart your browser.

Once you have logged in you will need to change the default deployment method from the Java Client to Local Client. Click the Customize User Interface Icon Settings located in the Applications window to bring up the Settings interface. Change the Client Deployment Preference to Local Client:

LIM Server Applications

Welcome to your personalized view of LIM Server Applications. The Applications box contains icons for the applications that you can use. "SINGLE" Click an icon to launch an application. The Application TABS perform the following functions from left to right - Click "Refresh" to view the latest applications. Click "Change Password" to change your password. Click "Customize" to change your settings. Click the "?" icon to display help contents. If you have problems using this interface, please contact LIM Customer Support - support@lim.com.

VERY IMPORTANT! The first application you launch will log you in to the application server (do not confuse this with the WEB Interface). You will remain logged in as long as an application is active. Once you quit the last application you will be logged out and cannot launch another application until the logout is complete. Do not get impatient...You must wait for the ICA Connection manger to exit - about 20 seconds.

TIMEOUTS: The Web Interface Connection will timeout after 24 hours. Applications will disconnect after 4 hours of idle time and exit after 24 hours of non-use.

LOGOUT/DISCONNECT/RECONNECT: If you use the LOGOUT Button all applications will exit. If you use the DISCONNECT Button prior to logging out, the applications will be available at the next login provided it is within 24 hours. Each time you login to the Web Interface all disconnected applications are reconnected. Use the RECONNECT Button at any time to reconnect to any disconnected applications.
